Why does my new Microbladed brows look solid?

by | May 29, 2024

Brown eye shadow can soften brows that are too bold.

My microbladed brows showed hairstrokes when I first got them. But now, they look solid. They are too dark and bold. How do I make them look more natural?
Please help!!!
Microblade strokes (incisions) are extremely fine in width. The gauge of the needles are thin. Permanent Makeup artists create “hair-like strokes” that are close together to create an illusion of brow hairs. When the procedure is initially completed, you will see all the pigmented incisions separated to achieve the appearance of realistic brow hairs. Within hours, your skin secretes sebum to protect the wound. According to Wikipedia, Sebaceous glands are microscopic exocrine glands in the skin that secrete an oily or waxy matter, called sebum, to lubricate and waterproof the skin and hair of mammals. It is usually clear in color and sticky to the touch. Once the sebum dries, it hardens to form a scab. It is a way for your skin to create a protective barrier to decrease infections. On average, new tattoo takes about two weeks for the incisions to heal. Always wash your hands before handling new pigmented areas and use a clean Q Tip to apply ointment.

Under the scab, your skin is trying to repair itself and push out any foreign substance in the skin. When microblade strokes (incisions) are placed too closely together, the pigment will blur and blend onto the surrounding strokes. Meaning, the initial sharp crisp stroke may not stay well defined after your skin repairs itself. It bleeds/blurs onto the next stroke. What determines how a stroke heals varies from skin to skin and how close the strokes are placed. If you would like a wispier looking brows, the “hair like strokes” should be placed farther apart. If you like a dense, makeup finished look, the strokes should be placed closer together.

No matter how dark or dense the pigment appears, overtime, all pigment fades. The brows will lighten up and look more natural. Brown or Blond eyeshadow can be brushed on the brows to soften the color.
