Ombre Brows and Hairstroke Brows are both cosmetic tattoos, however, the results are very different.
For Ombre Brows, Permanent Makeup Artists use a Digital Machine (electronic tattoo machine that buzzes) to heavily saturate the brow area with pigment. It is called Ombre because the Brow Bulb (beginning of brow close to your nose) is lighter, but as we move further onto the arch and the Brow Tail (end of the brows close to your ears), the pigment saturation is heavier.
For Hairstroke Brows, the artist can use a Digital Machine, Microblade, or SofTap tools. Thin lines are placed to assimilate hair like strokes for subtle, or lighter application.
Here are a few questions to ask yourself to decide if the Ombre Brow look is for you.
- Question 1: Do you ALWAYS apply full makeup when leaving the house for school, work, or the supermarket? Full makeup includes foundation, eyeshadow, and contour.
- Question 2: Do you want people to clearly notice that you are wearing makeup to achieve flawless skin?
- Question 3: Do you daily use makeup to make a bold statement?
- Question 4: Are you a dark brunette with olive skin tone?
- Question 5: Do you use makeup subtly and minimally so that people don’t know you are wearing makeup, however, you want a little definition around the eyes and lips?
If you answered Yes to Questions 1-4, Ombre may be a good option for you..
If you answered Yes to Question 5, Ombre Brows will look too bold and dark for your daily makeup regimen. Hairstroke Brows will be a better option for you.
